Fisher’s Corner – Bradford West Gwillimbury
The Hamlet received its name when settlers by the name Fisher arrived in 1824 and settled all four corners. They were Irish Palatives from County Limerick. This settlement of mostly Irish farmers soon became known as Irish Town. A church, school, and a blacksmith shop flourished. It was a meeting area for the Militia during the Rebellion of 1837.
